Schalke 04 vs Kaiserslautern
Bundesliga : Round 9
Date : 15 October 2011 - 18:30 CET
Stadium : Veltins-Arena, Gelsenkirchen

Schalke hosts Kaiserslautern in Bundesliga's Saturday evening match. Kaiserslautern scored only five goals so far and arrives as outsider. Schalke has won the last three matches and could jump to the 2nd position of the table with another success.

Schalke 04 had to overcome a shock when coach Rangnick retired after a burn-out three weeks ago. But the team showed moral, won all three matches under new (and old) coach Huub Stevens since. Stevens, who had lead Schalke to the win of the UEFA-Cup back in 1997, coaches a team of high potential now. Just in defensive midfield he is still searching for the right formation, tried several players there recently. However, Schalke has strong offensive players with Raul, Huntelaar or Farfan, could win five of six matches at home (including the Europa League), just the match against Bayern was lost in the Veltins Arena.

It is not working very well for the Kaiserslautern these days, just three points were won out of the last five matches and the FCK stands on a relegation position. The team plays a physical type of football and knows how to fight, but the conversion of chances is a serious problem. Striker Lakic, who scored 16 goals last season, moved to Wolfsburg, and replacement wasn't found so far. Just five goals were scored in nine matches and in the four away games Kaiserslautern scored just a single goal. With this away goal they even won a point in Köln, the other three away matches were lost.

Head to Head :
Last Meeting : 23 April 2011, Schalke - Kaiserslautern 0:1
Wins Schalke : 31
Wins Kaiserslautern : 29
Draws : 25

Possible Line-Ups :
Schalke 04 : Fährmann - Höger, Höwedes, Metzelder, Fuchs, Papadopoulos, Holtby, Draxler, Raul, Farfan, Huntelaar.
Kaiserslautern : Trapp - Dick, Amedick, Rodnei, Jessen, Sukuta-Pasu, Kirch, Petsos, Tiffert, Kouemaha, Shechter.

Betting Tip/Prediction :
Schalke is doing well under new coach Stevens, has strong offensive players and is successful at home this season. On the other side Kaiserslautern seems the complete opposite at the moment. So a high win from Schalke is not impossible.
