Turkey vs Germany
UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying, Group A
Date : 7 October, 2011 - 20:30 CET
Stadium : Turk Telekom Arena, Istanbul.

The UEFA EURO 2012 qualifiers brings on Friday the Group A fixture Turkey against Germany at the Turk Telekom Arena in Istanbul. Germany qualified as group-winner for the EURO 2012, Turkey have a good chance to finish as second and advance to the play-offs.

Turkey is on a good way to advance to the play-offs. Currently they are second and two points ahead rival Belgium. Furthermore Turkey have won the direct duel against Belgium (3:2, 1:1). Hence, already a draw on Friday against Germany would be a big step to the play-offs. The first meeting between Germany and Turkey brought a 0:3 defeat for Hiddink's side. However, for Turkey speaks the home advantage. Turkey have won all their home games in this qualifying. The last qualifier brought a goalless draw at Austria.

Germany plays a fantastic qualifying tournament. Löw's side have won all their qualifiers and hence, they were the first team - after the host countries - which qualified for the UEFA EURO 2012 final tournament. The target for the outstanding two qualifiers at Turkey and at home against Belgium will be to extend this series and win Group A with the maximum of points. Hence, manager Joachim Löw have nominated all key players, despite they are already qualified.
